Refund & Exchange Policy
Our products are made with the highest quality materials following a stringent production process. Our batiks are meticulously hand-crafted, and minor anomalies that occur in this handcrafting process are unique characteristics of authentic, handmade textile art and will not be considered a defect in the product itself.
Exchanges
In the event you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will be happy to exchange it for another product of equal value. We accept exchange requests within 7 days from the date you receive your order.
- In-Store Exchanges: Local customers in Sri Lanka can visit our physical store during operating hours. You must present the item in its original condition with all Rathna Batik labels and tags intact, along with the original purchase receipt/invoice, within 7 days of purchase.
- Online & International Exchanges: If you cannot visit our store physically (including all international/wideshiya orders), you must notify us of your exchange request via email (rathnabatik@gmail.com) or WhatsApp (+94 706 976 352) within 7 days of delivery. Once confirmed, you can ship the item back to our store address.
Shipping and Postage Costs
- Local Customers (Sri Lanka): For return postage and shipping of the exchanged item, the customer must bear the delivery costs both ways.
- International Customers (Wideshiya): The customer is responsible for all international return shipping fees, custom duties, and any re-shipping charges for the exchanged product.
- We recommend using a tracked and reliable courier service. Rathna Batik will not be held responsible for products lost or damaged during return transit.
Non-Exchangeable Items
Custom-made, tailor-made garments, and items purchased during clearance sales or markdowns cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged unless there is a clear, quantifiable manufacturing defect.
Refunds (Bank Compliance)
Generally, in accordance with our store policy, we offer exchanges rather than direct cash refunds. However, in the rare event that a refund is authorized by us (such as a confirmed manufacturing defect where an exchange/replacement product is unavailable):
Important Refund Method: In compliance with our payment gateway partner guidelines, the refund will be given to the payment-initiated media itself (the specific credit/debit card, bank account, or mobile wallet used to make the initial payment). We cannot under any circumstance issue refunds to alternative bank accounts, cash, or third-party cards.
Refunds will be processed within 5 to 7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. It may take additional time for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer’s billing cycle.
